The technique of the
plant multiplication
The propagation technique that Kiritaly uses for the reproduction of Paulownia is called micropropagation (or "agamic", or in VITRO).
This type of propagation begins with the collection of the meristem (bud) of a plant and is grown under sterile conditions in an artificial environment, where light, temperature and growth medium are predetermined according to the needs of the plant.

Main Advantages
1.
Possibility to select the starting material, with the choice of "super elite" plants.
2.
DNA analysis of the plant, in order to verify exactly the species and variety that will be multiplied
3.
The genetic heritage of the plants produced will be the same as the original plant, so we will find all the characteristics of the original plant on all the plants obtained (a characteristic impossible to find in plants multiplied by seed.
4.
Use of "sanitized" material, with the plants that will grow in the acclimatization phase in sterile substrates and that will be transferred to the greenhouse maintaining the maximum health conditions of the environments, so that at the time of transplanting into the field, we will have perfectly healthy plants.
5.
Laboratory production is not affected by seasonality and therefore both production and marketing can take place throughout the year.

In seed propagation, on the contrary, (called generative or "gamic" propagation), each new individual (the seedling) comes from a fertilization process, with the consequence that each seed will therefore have a unique genome, different from the others, which will lead to genetic diversity and a lack of homogeneity of the offspring among them.
In practice, each new individual will have its own characteristics and different features and will differ from the others.
In a commercial plantation, it will be essential to use plants with identical characteristics and uniformity of growth, both because during the growth phase the more developed plants could compromise the correct growth of the less developed ones, and because it will be essential to arrive at the moment of cutting the trunks with trees of the same size.
Kiritaly does not reproduce any plant from seed and our plants are multiplied IN VITRO; furthermore, our laboratories adopt all the best techniques and use the best materials to obtain "super elite" plants, practices that not all laboratories adopt.
